    ARTASHAT, ARMENIA - On August 26, 2009, U.S. Ambassador Marie L. Yovanovitch, Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan, the Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II, Governor of Ararat Marz Vardges Hovakimyan, representatives from the Armenian government, USAID, the Fund for Armenian Relief and the Armenian Water Company joined the community members of Qaghtsrashen village to mark the successful completion of the $3.16 million USAID Artashat Water Supply Project.

    VEDI, ARMENIA - On July 31, 2009, the head of the USAID/Armenia Social Reform Office Sangita Patel and the head of Vedi Medical Center Khazhak Grigoryan cut the ribbon at a ceremony marking the re-opening of the Vedi Medical Center’s Children Polyclinic. This renovation was made possible through the joint efforts of the US government, local Armenian government and the Vedi Medical Center with the support of USAID Project NOVA.

    GYUMRI, ARMENIA -to celebrate April 7–the Day of Motherhood and Beauty in Armenia–the Gyumri Maternity House welcomed the first clients of its new School of Motherhood–one of eight similar schools established since April 2008 though the joint efforts of USAID Project NOVA and the Republic of Armenia Ministry of Health.

    IJEVAN, ARMENIA-USAID’s Project NOVA opened a new School of Motherhood in Ijevan on June 1 as a unique celebration of the International Children’s Day in Armenia. The Project has already established eight similar schools in Armenia since April 2008.
